Description

I established my antiques business at the beginning of 1994 after having been involved in the accountancy profession for eight years. Initially I shared an art gallery, complementing the pictures with carefully selected antiques. In 1997 I took over the whole premises for my antiques shop which I ran successfully for 7 years.

I gave up the shop in 2004 to deal exclusively with the antiques trade from a warehouse in Jersey. In 2006 the opportunity arose to purchase a tearoom with a flat above in the Jersey countryside. I have turned this into my new shop and am now back dealing with members of the public and the antiques trade. I live on the premises and am open anytime by appointment.

I also participate at antiques fairs in the UK, for example at the NEC, Newark and a specialist glass fair from time to time. I deal in all manner of antiques including furniture, jewellery, paintings, silver, glass, porcelain, pottery and interesting objects. Prices range from £20 to £20,000.

I am an enthusiastic buyer of antiques and articles from or relating to the Channel Islands. My years of experience have allowed me to become one of Jersey's most knowledgeable antiques dealers.

FAQ
What is house clearance?

House clearance involves removing unwanted furniture, household items, appliances, rubbish and general belongings from a property. This can include houses, flats, garages, lofts, sheds and storage areas.

What items can you remove?

We can typically remove sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs, white goods, electrical items, clothing, ornaments, general household goods and other unwanted belongings, subject to safety and disposal requirements.

Do you offer free house clearance?

Free house clearance may be possible where suitable reusable or resalable items offset the cost of labour, transport and disposal. Every property is different, so we assess each clearance individually.

Do you clear properties after a bereavement?

Yes, a house clearance service can help families and executors clear a property following a bereavement. We understand that this can be a sensitive time and can work carefully according to your instructions

Do I need to sort everything before you arrive?

No. You can identify any belongings you wish to keep, and the remaining items can be assessed for removal. We recommend separating valuables, important documents and personal possessions before work begins.

Can you clear just one room or a few items?

Yes, depending on the service offered and minimum booking requirements. You can request a partial clearance for a single room, selected furniture or specific household items.

How much does house clearance cost?

The cost depends on the size of the property, the volume and type of items, accessibility, labour required and disposal costs. We can provide a quote based on the information you provide and, where necessary, a property assessment.

Do you provide house clearance quotes before starting?

Yes, a quote should be agreed before work begins. The price will depend on the information provided and any agreed assessment of the property and its contents.

What should I do before the clearance team arrives?

Remove or clearly identify items you want to keep. Set aside important documents, jewellery and valuables. Confirm access arrangements and parking. Tell us about fragile items, restricted areas or potentially hazardous materials. Check that the agreed quote covers all the areas and items you want cleared.

How do I book a house clearance?

Simply contact us with the property address or postcode, a brief description of the items to be removed and your preferred date. Photographs can also help us assess the job and prepare a quote.
